This page contains our entire policy on your privacy, broken down into sections. If you have any queries regarding this policy, or wish to dispute the policy, please refer to the contact page.

When you visit the website

As part of the ongoing development of this site, some information is collected automatically from all visitors to the site.

What we store

The details we store are your IP (Internet Protocol) address, browser name and version, and the time and date that you made your visit.

What we use this information for

This information is used for statistical purposes, to measure the flow of traffic to the site.

Third parties

Information on individual visits to the site will not be made available to third parties, unless required by law. However, statistical information (for instance, the percentage of visitors that are based in the UK) may be disclosed.

Removing your information

Unless you are the sole user of a computer that has a fixed IP address, we cannot identify you on an individual level from the information we collect. Therefore, information about individual visits will not be removed.

Children

We define children as those under the age of thirteen years.

Before information is stored

On all electronic forms throughout the site, we will suggest that your child asks you to fill the form in on their behalf.

What we store

At any time, you may view the information that we hold about your child, after you have allowed us to verify that you are the child's parent.

Third parties

You may request that information about your child is not passed onto third parties (unless we are required to pass that information on by law). If we have not received your request, the information that we hold about your child will be used as described throughout this policy.

Removing your information

If you want us to remove the information we hold about your child, please ask us to do so. We will remove the information without question. You can request this by any means of contact.

Email

You could send us two types of email: requests for information, and other email.

Requests for information

What we store

We store all emails that request information as a record of the correspondence.

What we use this information for

We will only use the information that you supply to us to provide the information that you have requested.

Third parties

We will inform you if we are going to pass your information onto a third party in order to fulfil your request.

Removing your information

If you want any emails that you have sent to us to be deleted, please contact us, and we shall carry out your request without question.

Other email

What we store

We store all emails as a record of the correspondence.

What we use this information for

We will not pass this information onto third parties. If we would like to publish the information, we will ask your permission before we it is published.

Removing your information

If you want any emails that you have sent to us to be deleted, please contact us, and we shall carry out your request without question.

Feedback from the website

If you use the contact form on the website, we receive your message as an email.

What we store

The email that we receive contains your message and the date and time that the message was sent. Optionally, it may contain your name and email address. All emails will be stored as a record of the correspondence.

What we use this information for

We will use your feedback to improve the website where we can. If your message is not specifically about changes to the website, it will be treated like email; therefore, please refer to the email section, above.

Third parties

With your prior permission, positive feedback on the website may be released publicly to raise awareness of Friends of Bolivia and the site.

Removing your information

If you wish us to delete your feedback from our email, please contact us.

Mailing list

You may wish to be kept up-to-date about Friends of Bolivia. If so, we produce Annual Reports (which are available online without registration). These reports can be sent to you by email or through the post if you register online.

What we store

We will store your email address, codeword and preferences until you unsubscribe. This is stored in a database on the webserver (running this site).

What we use this information for

We will send the Annual Reports to your email address and, with your permission, send you details of current projects and forthcoming events.

Third parties

We will not release your email address to third parties unless required to by law.

Removing your information

You can unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time. Information on how to unsubscribe will be at the end of any emails sent via the mailing list.

Language selection

The first time you view the site, you will be asked to choose a language. If you do not want to do this every time you visit, you can choose to store your choice in a cookie (a short text file that is held on your computer and can only be used on the Internet by the Friends of Bolivia site).

What we store

If you choose to save your choice of language, we record the number of visitors that have chosen each language. No personally-identifiable information is stored. A cookie is placed on your system, which does not hold personally-identifiable information.

What we use this information for

This information is used to ensure that you view the Friends of Bolivia site in your chosen language. Our record of the number of people choosing each language is to determine whether to continue offering a choice of languages.

Third parties

We cannot tell what language you have chosen and, therefore, cannot disclose your choice to third parties. We may publish the tally of each chosen language without seeking your permission.

Removing your information

To remove your language choice, you can delete any cookies from the friendsofbolivia.org.uk domain, or remove the information via this website.

Membership

If you apply for membership using our online form, the information that you enter is sent to us as an email, which is retained, and your details are added to a database pending receipt of the charge for membership.

What we store

All the details that you submit will be stored in a database.

What we use this information for

Your information will be used to keep you up-to-date on the activities of Friends of Bolivia, and to maintain your membership of Friends of Bolivia. Legally, we have to store this information for six years.

Third parties

Once you have joined, we may pass your information to third parties with your prior permission.

Removing your information

To terminate your membership of Friends of Bolivia, please contact the president who will deal with your request.

Events

As part of its work, Friends of Bolivia holds events to raise money for our activities. To be kept informed of forthcoming events, you may wish to join our mailing list (see above). If you register your interest in an event online, we may ask for some information about you.

What we store

We will store the information that we request from you (most probably, your name and contact details). This information will be received and treated as an email (see above).

What we use this information for

The information you supply will be used to plan the requirements for an event, such as catering and room size.

Third parties

Your personal information will not be passed onto third parties, unless they require it to produce invitations etc. You will be told before you submit the information if it is going to be passed onto third parties. General information for planning may be passed onto the relevant third parties (for example, telling caterers that we expect three vegetarians to attend an event), but this will not allow them to identify you.

Removing your information

Please refer to the section on emails (above) for details on how to remove your information.

Donations

If you wish to make a donation to Friends of Bolivia, we provide a downloadable form for you to make this donation. However, this form is used to produce a printable version that you are requested to send by post, accompanied by your donation.

What we store
